Antenatal & Postnatal Care at home (with specialist mental health support where requested)

These days, women and their partners are actively seeking independent midwives for their maternity care, often while still being booked in at their local hospital for NHS care. The average length of your antenatal or postnatal visit with Connect Midwifery Care is approximately 60-90 mins, and these are provided in the comfort of your own home. Angie also has extensive experience in specialist Mental Health Support, and can offer this to each client as and when needed.

Connect Midwifery Care means  true CONNECTION with mothers/ families and a more holistic and woman/family centred approach to care.Our aim is to make your antenatal care and/or postnatal support easy, by providing at home visits to suit your availability.

Checking on yours and your baby's wellbeing in an unhurried and informative way, makes for a very pleasant midwife visit!​ Antenatal visits typically occur monthly until 28 weeks, fortnightly until 36 weeks and weekly until baby's arrival.

What to expect:​

• Antenatal- Clinical observations of B/P, weight, urine checks, relevant blood tests or

vaginal swabs for screening, feeling for baby’s position in the womb,

listening to foetal heart tones, occasional (rarely) breast, pelvic or vaginal exams

• Investigations and advice given on diet, nutrition, exercise, supplements,

natural ways to eliminate pregnancy ailments, improving on sleep, sex in, pregnancy,

preterm birth, partner involvement, breastfeeding, natural, induction and much more…

• Postnatal-Clinical observations of mother- B/P , temperature, any relevant

blood tests or swabs for screening, investigations of breasts and assessment

of normal breastfeeding activity, assessment of uterus and after baby blood-

loss, assessment of normal healing of vagina/perineum etc….

• Assessment of baby, normal progress and development and adaptation to

life outside of the womb, clinical investigations of temperature, heart rate etc, weight, normal feeding and elimination habits, cord healing.

Antenatal Package fees-£2200

Postnatal Package fees- £2200 (8 visit over 4 weeks)

Antenatal and Postnatal Package combined-£3900 (payment plans considered and sliding scale options for those on lower income salaries)

Additional /one-off Antenatal visit-£180

Additional /one-off Postnatal visit-£220

NIPE (New-born Infant Physical Exam) usually completed following home delivery.
